What is weather?
Weather is the day-to-day state of the atmosphere and it's short variations from minutes to weeks. Weather is generally a combination of wind, humidity, temperature, visibility, precipitation, and cloudiness. For example, you might often ask someone, "What's the weather tomorrow?", you are obviously referring to what the weather will be for that day only. Weather has a lot terminology in the form of vocabulary that names lots of events that happen in different weather conditions.
What is climate?
Climate is the long-term pattern of weather in a certain area. Some people often call it the average weather for a certain place and time period. The time period given is often 30 years. For example, the climate of a rain forest is warm and rainy all year long. If it remains that way over a period of time then that is the climate for that area. Climate change takes years, decades, or even centuries. An example of climate change is that when scientists look at data about a certain area, they can tell if, an area was colder during a winter than average. If it continues to become colder over the course of many summers, then this would lean towards a climate change.
What is temperature and precipitation?
Temperature is the measure of how fast the atoms and molecules of a substance are moving. People normally feel this as how hot or cold an object or substance is. Temperature is measured in celsius, fahrenheit, and kelvin scales, in degrees. The tool primarily used for measuring temperature is the thermometer.
Precipitation is the water released from clouds in the form of rain, sleet, snow, hail, and freezing rain.
