Organism Organization
In ecology, all living things are organized from the smallest to the largest in size. The order starts at atom, then goes to molecule, organelle, cell, tissue, organ, organ system organism.
Cell Theory
The Cell Theory is a scientific theory that states that all organisms are made up of units of life called cells. The cell theory consists of three parts:
1. All living things are made up of cells. (Single or multi-celled)
2. Cells are the basic units of structure and function in living things.
3. Living cells come only from other living cells.
The cell theory was made by three scientists and their discoveries. They're Matthias Schleiden, Theodor Schwann, and Rudolph Virchow. In 1838 Matthias discovered that all plants are made of cells. A year later, Theodor discovered that all animals are made of cells too. Finally, in 1855, Rudolph was doing experiments with diseases when he found that all cells come from other currently existing cells.
